SIPPRELL LIKE WE DON'T CARE

It’s been a minute since we last wrote about South London artist Sipprell, and so we’re pleased to have this distinct talent back with us today. Her comeback single ‘Like We Don’t Care’ is an incredibly personal one as it deals with the relationship between Sipprell and her mother. As the singer-songwriter openly shares: “Everyone’s relationship is different, but I grew up with a mother that found it difficult to communicate her feelings freely. I naturally mirrored this behaviour in our relationship which left us harbouring resentment for many years & not being able to open up to each other. Ultimately, it’s about wanting to be honest about your true feelings, that behind the walls we put up out of fear, we care more than anything.'' These feelings are explored throughout the paced production, which touches on RnB, soul, electronica and pop, in a refined fashion. It’s engaging and emotional, a truly welcome return of the undoubtedly talented Sipprell. - Hannah Thacker
